Philly Bike Action!

$5 Million for Vision Zero!

This petition is a collaboration between the following organizations:

Mayor Parker and City Council - it's time for our City to back up its commitment to safety and contribute $5 million to Vision Zero in the Fiscal Year 2026 Capital Budget!

Vision Zero funding pays for projects that are proven to reduce traffic fatalities and severe injuries on our streets, wherever they’re most needed across our city.

The Vision Zero budget line can be used for all kinds of safety improvements like:

Dangerous roads and reckless driving affect all Philadelphians, especially residents of our lowest-income neighborhoods and Black and Latino Philadelphians, who are more than twice as likely to be seriously injured or killed in a crash than other Philadelphians.

In Mayor Parker's words, “Every Philadelphian deserves to be able to get home safely, no matter if they choose to travel by foot, by transit, by bike, or by personal vehicle.”

Our Mayor wants a Safer Philadelphia, and we share that dream. In order for Mayor Parker to achieve her commitment to reach zero traffic deaths by 2050, the City must give Vision Zero the money it needs to succeed.

In 2024, several tragic, preventable deaths lead to an unprecedented public outcry for safer streets. This year, the time has finally come for the City to fully fund Vision Zero.

"A city built only for cars is a city that is rapidly hostile to human life, especially one where drivers are as reckless as Philly. An investment in other means of personal transportation means better quality of life for all involved, including those that need to commute by car – less cars overall on the roads"

"Getting more people out of cars and traveling by bike or on foot would be a win on so many levels. As long as navigating the city outside a multi-ton metal cage is unsafe, however, many will be deterred from switching to healthier modes of transport. Fund Vision Zero!"

"I commute to work from West Phila to Center City at Pennsylvania Hospital. The improvements in bike safety over the years along Spruce and Pine Streets are significant but we still have a long way to go. There are ALWAYS cars/trucks stopped in the bike lanes. usually at least 1 every block and sometimes more. Spruce Street from 38th to 33rd is literally a death trap with cars routinely blocking the corner at 38th and Spruce in front of the Wawa, double parked and blocking the bike lane all along that block, and passengers in cars stopped in traffic along the stretch from 36th to 34th street who decide to exit the vehicle and open their doors directly into the bike lane. Protected bike lanes are the only way to keep bicyclists safe as we have sadly seen over and over and over again."

"We need safer streets!"

-brian r. 1 week, 6 days ago

"After biking for 15 years in NYC, I had my first accident after moving to Philly. I ended up lying in the street with my mangled bike several feet away. Philadelphia pays so much lip service to being a “first class city” yet the state of its bike laws is downright arcane. I felt 1000% safer biking to work in NYC during rush hour, near the Holland Tunnel, and that says a lot."

-Miriam S. 1 week, 6 days ago

"Hi Mayor Parker. I urge you to commit 5 million dollars to Vision Zero in this year's City budget. This allocation will save lives. Thanks. Owen Sindler"

-Owen S. 1 week, 6 days ago

"I bike to work every day, and on almost every commute I have a close call with a car because of unprotected bike lanes, lack of driver attention and education, or plain recklessness. I love that I get to ride my bike very day but I am tired of fearing for my safety when I am just trying to get to work. And I don’t want anyone else to feel this way! Please invest in infrastructure to make our city less car-centric and more sustainable, equitable, and enjoyable for everyone."

-Molly P. 1 week, 6 days ago

"My son lives in and goes to school in Philadelphia. He bikes every day and we know the roads are NOT SAFE. Please Invest in Vision Zero."

-Beth I. 1 week, 6 days ago

"Cyclists can keep dying or you can step up and keep "auto-centric" out of the equation when people think of Philly. Stepping up involves having the guts to tell residents they have to share the streets that we also pay for, like it or not. Philly car drivers have been enabled by the city for years and people have died for it. Will it take one of your kids dying before you act?"

-gayle m. 1 week, 6 days ago

"Stop unnecessary deaths and fund vision zero!"

-Alexander A. 2 weeks ago

"Please keep our city's streets safe by funding this critical initiative. I've personally had too many close calls on foot and bike, including getting intentially hit while biking by an entitled driver who did not want me on the road. I worry about our 3 kids 11, 9, and 5 especially now that the older two are beginning to navigate the city on their own."

-Terrence M. 2 weeks ago

"As someone who relies on walking and public transit to get everywhere in the City, I know how important it is that we fully fund - and implement - Vision Zero to make Philadelphia a leader in not just walkability but in pedestrian and bicyclist safety. Please increase our collective commitment in this next capital budget to at least $5 million."

-Michael A. 2 weeks ago

"Traffic is out of control in Philadelphia. Fines for speeding and moving violations could fund traffic cops. What happened to the Mayor's support for electronic surveillance for traffic in the city?! Let Philadelphia lead in pedestrian friendly policy."

-William B. 2 weeks, 2 days ago

"It is unconscionable in a city with so many bike deaths that the mayor continues to ignore the needs of safe travel. Improve our public transportation and make biking and travel safe in this city instead of focusing on lining your pockets like with the sixers arena."

-Katherine I. 2 weeks, 3 days ago

"Commuting in this city by any means other than a personal car (biking, walking, public transport...) is literally taking your life into your own hands at the moment. Drivers ignore the law, act recklessly, and face no consequences. Almost everybody I know has been nearly (within a few feet) hit by drivers while legally crossing crosswalks. Bikers such as Dr. Barbara Friedes and people waiting for the bus such as the woman recently hit in South Philly are killed in cold blood by drivers bolstered by an entitled and violent culture. WE NEED LAWS! WE NEED ENFORCEMENT! WE NEED REGULATION! Unless cars are kept strictly under control, more people will be killed. Philadelphia has the power to prevent this! To not do so is to accept it!"

-Audrey B. 2 weeks, 3 days ago

"Please make the city walkable. Eliminate cars from center city! At least close the center during weekends like most European cities."

-Arjola S. 2 weeks, 3 days ago

"There's no lower hanging fruit for us to make this city safer than supporting Vision Zero with ample and proper funding. It's time you take accountability for reducing pedestrian and cyclist deaths in our city. It's embarrassing to require a petition for such an obviously positive cause."

-Jacob B. 2 weeks, 4 days ago

"I can't imagine a more important and achievable goal for the city than reducing pedestrian and cyclist deaths. It's something we know how to fix and it isn't that complicated or expensive!"

"Vision zero keeps us all safer. Please fund it well."

-Christina D. 2 weeks, 4 days ago

"Help us make the streets safe for my 4 year old and 2 year old! I want them to live in, love, and feel safe in this city. The intersection of 38th and Powelton is a mess---speeding cars, wide lanes, disregard for them as they walk across the street. It is a dangerous river separating them and the elementary school they will have to walk to every day. The wonderful potential of this city is locked up until we can adjust the city block so it is safe and comfortable for the people who our out there walking, biking, breathing, and talking in the open air of the streets."

-Andrew H. 2 weeks, 4 days ago

"As a pedestrian, I know how dangerous crossing the street can be in Philadelphia. And as a volunteer at a physical rehab hospital, I have seen the horrible consequences of motor vehicle-inflicted injuries. Vision Zero will undoubtedly have a quick return on investment not least by saving lives and medical expenses, but also by increasing Philadelphia's overall appeal. For these reasons, I strongly urge Mayor Parker and City Council to prioritize this issue."

-Trevor D. 2 weeks, 4 days ago

"Would love to see more parked cars switched with the bike lanes! So the bike lanes are on the inside!"

-Jeff C. 2 weeks, 5 days ago

"We need more money dedicated for pedestrian and biking safety in Philadelphia! These streets be crazy."

-Cecily P. 2 weeks, 6 days ago

"Basic safety is overlooked time and again in favor of short-term intangibles. Let's remember that safe transportation of PEOPLE is a matter of basic safety, just as safe shelter for people is a matter of basic safety. People do get physically hurt every day walking and rolling on public streets, and we have become deaf to it because the effects of sharing the road on inanimate cars dominates our "normal" just put of fear of monetary cost 'to the car' (dings, scratches, parking tickets or just the idea that one should pay for parking at all). Fund city programs that do things cities are on the hook to provide: some safety, and some collective attempt to lower deaths and injuries."

-Marissa Z. 2 weeks, 6 days ago

"Cleaning the streets is only a band-aid if people don't actually take pride in Philly's streets. We need permanent and attractive changes to encourage people to treat the streets with respect."

-Gregory K. 2 weeks, 6 days ago

"This is a disgrace that Phila has more deaths (and serious injuries) to both pedestrians and bicyclists than NYC!! The current administration's cut back to the VZ budget has set the safety on our roads backwards."

-Suzanne H. 3 weeks, 2 days ago

"Outside of Center City Philadelphia is very unfriendly to pedestrians and particularly those who rely on mobility devices. South Philly in particular has little no enforcement of crosswalk parking, sidewalk (!) parking, day lighting etc. I hope the city will start addressing these issue to make it a mobility friendly place for all, regardless of neighborhood."

"Hoboken hasn't had a traffic death in 7 years. Seems like a good idea to model ourselves after somewhere that is doing things right. Daylighting intersections with flex posts and paint is cheap. Creating parking protected bike lanes with paint is cheap. This shouldn't be that hard."

"Mayor Parker, increased funding for Vision Zero is essential for implementing effective safety measures, such as road diets, improved intersection visibility, and protected bike lanes. Given that traffic fatalities disproportionately affect underserved communities in Philadelphia, with fatal or serious injury crashes three times more likely to occur in low-income areas, increasing Vision Zero funding is crucial. Such investment would not only save lives but also promote equitable transportation access and enhance the overall livability of our neighborhoods."

"reliable mass transit, safe bike paths are basic resources in so many cities around the world. and those cities are vibrant and thriving because of it!! as a year-round bicycle commuter in the city i feel like i actually have to rely on sheer luck every time i go out. every single car i share the road with, whether there’s a bike lane or not, is a threat. i even have to watch for cars while on the SRT on kelly drive, because sometimes vehicles do lose control and end up on the trail. i absolutely understand why so many people are afraid to bicycle in philadelphia.. even if it is the most efficient method of transportation here. i’m 37 and have been a bike commuter in philly since i was 24. i often feel like my years of bike commuting are limited because when i’m older i might not have a fast-enough response time to keep me from dangerous vehicle encounters. ALSO WE NEED LAWS TO MAKE IT ILLEGAL FOR RIDESHARES TO STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! ESPECIALLY TO LET PEOPLE OUT!!!! people can walk a minute or two to the ends of blocks for drops-offs/pick-ups from their ubers and lyfts! RIDESHARE DOORINGS ARE MY DAILY FEAR. some cities have laws that only allow backseat doors to open from the non-traffic side of the road! people shouldn’t be afraid of bicycling in Philadelphia.. and i shouldn’t have to feel like some daredevil who is gambling with my safety/life every time I bike. car culture is what it is in the United States, and cars are necessary in so many places, but they shouldn’t be necessary in cities. i choose to bicycle commute not because i’m some kind of thrill-seeking daredevil. i choose to bicycle commute because (parroting this sentiment) cities are meant for people, not for cars!"

"Please make safety a priority and fund Vision Zero with $5 million this budget year."

-Stephen H. 1 month ago

"Vision Zero is critical to a safer roads for pedestrians and cyclists. I walk and bike in this city every day and it is very dangerous due to reckless drivers as well as drivers that don't pay attention. We need more bike lanes so kids and grownups can move around the city without getting run over. Make Philadelphia more people friendly!"

-Manfred W. 1 month ago

"Vision Zero is the only way to keep both pedestrians and bikers safe. We need this!"

-Adam S. 1 month ago

"When I come to Philadelphia - I always ride my bike - I don't think I have ever paid for parking in Philly for my whole life - and I am 75"

-Ross W. 1 month ago

"Vision Zero saves lives. PHiladelphia should not be a car city - people love car free spaces and it makes for a better city experience."

-Aislinn S. 1 month ago

"Cities are meant for people not cars. Working towards vision zero helps make the city more hospitable for all of us"

-Talia C. 1 month ago

"Ensure the city is safe, green, and clean by funding Vision Zero! Don't let our city fall behind on transit safety progress."

-Marc S. 1 month ago

"Dear Mayor Parker, I ride my bike daily for transportation, recreation, run errands, go wherever I need to. For the city this means less traffic, cleaner air, safer streets. For me, the benefits are numerous, but the biggest risk is riding in traffic with automobiles who drive aggressively, cut me off, and sometimes don’t even see me (despite all my lights/neon). Please give riders a safe space to ride. Our lives depend on it."

-Michael G. 1 month ago

"Please approve the funding to make city streets safer and improve the quality of life for Philadelphia citizens."

-Daniel L. 1 month ago

"Bike lane protection for my colleagues who lives in Philadlephia"

-Meg T. 1 month ago

"As someone who has been in collisions and countless near misses both walking an cycling (in the so-called “bike lanes”) I implore you, Mayor Parker and members of the City Council, to please please back this mission with every resource available. It will save many lives and help alleviate pedestrian anxiety given the way folks drive in our beautiful city, a city built for PEOPLE NOT CARS! Thank you."

-Sylvio L. 1 month ago

"You're on the right track. Please keep it going forward."

-John S. 1 month ago

"Please make good on your promise to the people of Philadelphia. We all deserve to commute without fear."

-Zeno R. 1 month ago

"City government previously voted against barriers for bike lanes that would have prevented at least one person's death last year. Please don't be the mayor who showed everyone that you don't care about the deaths of Philadelphians. Thank you."

-Stephen M. 1 month ago

"I'm a daily cycler in Philadelphia, and I've had a number of close calls. Please fund programs to make Philadelphia a safe place to bike!"

-Ryan G. 1 month ago

"Support the cyclists in Philadelphia and honor our lives over the comfort and convenience of drivers."

-Lauren G. 1 month ago

"Please, please fund Vision Zero. My wife and I both cycle to work and for errands. We hope our children will be able to cycle around the city one day as well. The improvements to our cycling infrastructure by the past few administrations have made our commutes feel much safer. But no where near safe enough! Especially as the recent, tragic death of Dr. Barbara Friedes made explicitly clear. On the same route I (and many many others) commute to work on every day, nonetheless. Bike lanes are great but not when cars use them for parking, cars speed next to (or in!) them, cars turn in front of bikers at intersections cutting them off, and many many more safety issues that make me feel that my commute home is a partial gamble on my life. We need bollards, raised curbs and physical solid barriers. We need intersection corners cleared. We need fines and towing for cars using bike lanes as parking spaces and passing lanes. We need safer infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians alike."

-Rohan S. 1 month ago

"make it so"

-John R. 1 month ago

"Please save bikers! We need safety from crazy drivers!"

-Diana Z. 1 month ago

"You said you'd fix the roads. So fix the roads, and not just for cars."

-Adam H. 1 month ago

"We need safe bike lanes, I was struck by a vehicle May 12, 2023 on Callowhill Rd. I broke ribs, by shoulder, and I Could have easily been killed. Despite writing the mayor, state rep, and Philly Inquirer about this being a continued problem, and still nothing has changed. Please make safe bike lanes a reality, we should not be in fear for our lives every time we commute."

-Max M. 1 month ago

"Please help make Philadelphia streets safer by funding Vision Zero."

-Madeline F. 1 month ago

"Safe streets NOW!"

-Terry H. 1 month ago

"Please prioritize the safety of the bike riders in Philadelphia! We deserve safe spaces to commute. Bodies are NO match for automobiles. Let's prevent more senseless bicycle deaths. Thank you!"

-JENNIFER H. 1 month ago

"Make the streets safer for us bike riders please."

-Ryan R. 1 month ago

"Separated bike lanes and traffic calming initiatives make city streets safer foreveryone--cyclists, pedestrians and neighbors alike."

-Robert W. 1 month ago

"Safe streets now! I want to ride my bike with my child without fear of death!"

-Jordan T. 1 month ago

"Let's get to zero casualties in this great city of Philadelphia! Go Birds"

-Samantha K. 1 month ago

"While I don't live in the city, I often visit - and often on bike. Safer streets benefit all of us, residents and visitors alike. Philly can lead by example, too, and encourage nearby towns to follow!"

-Michael F. 1 month ago

"I am a recreational biker that rides 10-25 miles at a time. I would like to 1) see the bike lane lines repainted wherever they are worn out, 2) see more dedicated bike lanes and 3) be able to feel safer when riding in a bike lane because of enforcement."

-Doug P. 1 month ago

"Please show you actually care about the safety and well being of Philadelphia residents over businesses. We are paying attention."

-Holleh H. 1 month ago

"Be forward thinking. Do you feel safe letting a 7 year old bike around on bike lanes? Do you feel if you stand in a sidewalk that a car can’t turn into you and hit you? We need bollards, raised curbs and physical solid barriers protecting cars from hitting pedestrians and cyclists. We need proactive fixing of issues. Some streets can be closed to cars, you can have dedicated bus lanes. Vision zero doesn’t mean scaring people from cycling and walking around, it means physically protecting the pedestrians and cyclists from the killing machines that cars are."

-David G. 1 month ago

"Philadelphia citizens shouldn't have to fear for their lives from reckless automobile drivers. Make the streets safe for cyclists and pedestrians to use."

-Victoria F. 1 month ago

"Protected bike lanes save lives!"

-Austin B. 1 month ago

"A fully funded vision zero would provide multiples returned in cost savings and additional city revenue. Safer streets reduce demand for emergency services, reduce traffic, and cut down on pollution. Safe biking would disproportionately impact lower income citizens, since biking is far more financially accessible, enabling more upward mobility amd access to the community."

-Neil B. 1 month ago

"Invest in the infrastructure of our community!"

-Olivia F. 1 month ago

"please approve this so my chances of dying on my commute to work every day and during the rest of the 10,000 miles i ride my bike every year recreationally are decreased"

-anthony f. 1 month ago

"Paint is not infrastructure! Please help save lives by installing concrete barriers. Planters would be lovely"

-Rich P. 1 month ago

"No more cyclist and pedestrian deaths! Citizens of Philadelphia should not be afraid to commute, walk or just exist in their own city!"

-Cameron S. 1 month ago

"Philadelphia has the foundation to be the greenest, cleanest city with our historic grid street layout! Reduce cars by increasing bike and pedestrian safety. I’m happiest when walking and biking this amazing, beautiful city and seeing my fellow Philadelphians out in the streets!"

-Sarita C. 1 month ago

"The evidence is clear: Philadelphians want our streets and sidewalks to be peaceful, just like Paris, or Amsterdam, or NYC or Jersey City. Nothing makes a city cleaner or greener than curbing traffic violence. Please get that Vision Zero budget back up to $5 million. It will pay for itself quickly in a safer Philadelphia! Thank You!"

-Michael M. 1 month ago

"Please fully fund Vision Zero. Help protect pedestrians and cyclists from traffic violence in Philly."

-Renée B. 1 month ago

"As a life-long Philadelphian, I urge you to get our act together and focused on the safety of our pedestrian citizens and tourists. We cannot be completely car-less, but favoring pedestrian safety in a high-density environment makes more sense than the inverse."

-Edward L. 1 month ago

"Philly is such a walkable city, but it isn't always safe for pedestrians. People should be able to explore the city on foot without having to worry about dangerous crosswalks and drivers."

-Stephanie N. 1 month ago

"As a city employee who commutes 14 miles round trip by bike nearly every day, this investment can be a matter of life or death for me. Every day I'm just trying to get to work like everyone else. Its incredible the number of drivers think its trivial and almost a sport to not treat a cyclist with respect in the road. Please do the right thing, for a healthier City. Thank you."

-Sue P. 1 month ago

"Although I live in DelCo, I bike in the city a lot. I also have a good friend from Media who rides the train into Philly several times a week and has about 5% vision. There are so many improvements that need to be made to make our travel in the city safer. Please finance this work in the budget."

-Ira J. 1 month ago

"Please fund Vision Zero fully at $5 million this year! We can't be the safest city in America without prioritizing street safety for all road users."

-Louis B. 1 month ago

"Please fund Vision Zero! As someone who bikes and walks through the city, I have seen firsthand how dangerous it can be to navigate. Investing in measures like speed bumps, clearer signage, and dedicated bike lanes will make the city safer for residents and more attractive for visitors."

-Dayne K. 1 month ago

"I was almost run off the road by a vehicle on my commute just this morning."

-Melanie F. 1 month ago

"Five million for street safety is the bare minimum we should be contributing. Protected bike lanes are table stakes for any city that wants to be a place that people choose to live and visit."

-Mandy B. 1 month ago

"I support vision zero"

-Ben L. 1 month ago

"There is no reason we should turn down saving lives for a few extra parking spots"

-Sam B. 1 month ago

"Safe streets for all!"

-Eleanor B. 1 month ago

"Mayor Parker, honor your commitment to safe travels in Philly's streets for all. Any pedestrian or rider fatality is unacceptable in the City of Brotherly Love!"

-Damien D. 1 month ago

"There is a future in which needless pedestrian deaths are taken as seriously as deaths by disease. This is a public health issue. Please prioritize Vision Zero in your budget this year, Mayor Parker. Cities are for people -- not for cars."

-Charlotte S. 1 month ago

"Save lives, fund vision zero!"

-Joseph F. 1 month ago

"I can’t not say how terrible are the sidewalk and bike lane… there is no priority for humain but only car have the priorities… we live in a place (lower Merion) where so many kids live, play and the only option we have is to drive our kids everywhere. They should be independent (at a certain age) to go alone see their friends or go to school / activities on their own… and they can’t because it is too dangerous. Take action NOW. Use our taxes for the right things…"

-Gaetane M. 1 month ago

"put safety of pedestrians and cyclists ahead of drivers' convenience"

-Fay W. 1 month ago

"Vision Zero funding means support for all modes of transit. I am pro-bike lane and pro-public transit, but the infrastructure in this city is so negligent that I am forced to have a car to commute from Southeast Philly to Fairmount for work because buses are often cancelled/don’t arrive on time. It’s ridiculous. For car-loving folk reading this- traffic doesn’t get any better if every single person has to drive to get around. Vision Zero Funding Now."

-Monica D. 1 month ago

"Please support Vision Zero! We're doing so in Lancaster and would love to see more in Philly. Keep all Philadelphians safe as they move about the city."

-Jesse O. 1 month ago

"Pedestrians and bicyclists should be able to move through our city in total safety. My only fear for my children when they walk to school is from cars, and that should not be. Our community school has spent years demanding traffic calming with no action!"

-Alaina L. 1 month ago

"A city is only safe if its streets are. Philadelphians deserve safe routes to school, work, and transit - and we need sufficient funding to make this happen."

-Becca F. 1 month ago

"Please increase the VZ budget to at least $5million for FY2026. We are counting on the Mayor and City Council to make significant improvments to our infrastructure. Everyone deserves to make it home after a walk or bike ride on our city streets. Marissa, Piscitello Bicycle Law Advocates"

-Marissa P. 1 month ago

"In December, I was hit by a car crossing the 11th street bike lane south of Wash Ave. This could have been prevented with better investments into Vision Zero, like speed bumps, clearer signage, even just (better) paint in the bike lane."

-Russell R. 1 month ago

"As a daily bicycle commuter, the number of cars that do not look out for bike lanes when making left turns, pull into them to drop off passengers, and park in them to unload is appalling. In Washington, D.C.--where I used to live--and in my home town of Ann Arbor, MI, many lanes are protected by more permanent barriers including concrete curbs."

-Mary Claire S. 1 month ago

-Ryder R. 1 month ago

Cars are less likely to crash with each other when going slower, neighborhoods are quieter and more peaceful for their residents, etc."

-Jeffrey M. 1 month ago

"As a cyclist who has been dinged by the side mirror a police car who decided to travel in the bike lane without lights/sirens, had to swerve into traffic to avoid getting doored by city vehicles illegally parked in the bike lane, and as a pedestrian who has been almost hit several times by drivers who fail to respect the box, I firmly believe we need an investment to protect anyone who isn't in a car from the unchecked aggressive driving that has been allowed to become the norm in this city."

"I would be so grateful for vision zero to help protect bikers on Woodland Ave in West Philly. My son and I use this bike lane in rush hour traffic everyday to get to work and school. It is truly terrifying. I bike all over the city but this street is the one that scares me most."

-Lisa J. 1 month ago

"As a brand new cyclist, this would change so much for my comfort on the roads. I moved to Philly shortly before the passing of Dr. Barbra Friedes and Christopher Cabrera. Seeing the cycling community and more gather in grief only made me realize how important driver accountability and sturdy bike infrastructure is. I learned how to ride a bike in November 2024. I have been mostly riding in parks, on the DRT, and slowly adding in road time little by little. I am terrified every time I do it. The first time I went on the roads I cried as soon as I got home because I was relieved I survived. I shouldn’t be in fear every time I decide to go on a bike ride. I shouldn’t be scared to travel in a way that has made me feel so free and given me so much autonomy. I shouldn’t be here begging, pleading for this initiative to happen. Please listen to the community by put lives and safety of so many first."

This city needs to do more to protect cyclist and pedestrians, from a road space that is almost entirely tailored to cars. -Emily K. 1 month, 1 week ago

"We live in a city, not a highway or a bike parking lot. It shouldn’t be considered risky to bike or walk places—even driving feels dangerous these days. We desperately need infrastructure to complement enforcement and act as physical cues to be mindful of speed and other people around. We need bike lanes to be bike lanes, sidewalks to be sidewalks, and parks to be human parks, because now they are all seen as parking spots. Safe streets improve the city for everyone!"

-Lila D. 1 month, 1 week ago

"Every person in Philadelphia deserves the right to get to work, home, and anywhere else safely whether by bus, car, bike, wheelchair or foot. Over 100 people die every year in traffic violence on the street in Philadelphia alone. When visión zero started in Philadelphia nearly a decade ago that number was 75 a year. We simply are not funding it adequately. Philadelphia's infrastructure is a decade behind our peer cities. That has to change now before another Barbara Friedes is killed, before another Christopher Cabrera is killed, before another Dominque Jones is killed. Now is the time for the mayor and city council to truly build a "safer, cleaner, greener" Philadelphia by fully funding Vision zero."
